🔲 Grid question
In a Grid question, all answer options are shown as a grid of cells. Players select every cell they think is correct - for example "Select all the countries in South America" or "Which of these animals are mammals?"
📝 How it works
- Question: Clearly state what players should select.
- Options: Enter all the cells of the grid, and mark every correct one. The options are arranged in a square grid on the player's device and on the game screen.
- Player input: Players tap cells to select or deselect them, up to the maximum number of answers. When the minimum and maximum number of answers are the same, the answer is sent as soon as that many cells are selected.
- Wrong cells cost nothing: selecting a wrong cell doesn't take points away.
- Feedback: After answering, players see which cells were correct.
⚙️ Expanded settings
- Minimum and maximum answers: Define how many cells a player may select. By default the maximum is the number of correct options.
- Points are awarded:
- For each correct answer (default) - players earn the question's points for every correct cell they select.
- Only with the minimum number of correct answers - players earn the question's points once, when they select at least the minimum number of correct cells.
⚠️ When you choose Only with the minimum number of correct answers, set the minimum answers to at least 1. Without a minimum, every answer - even an empty one - earns the full points.

🏆 Scoring
Grid questions use time-based scoring by default: faster answers earn more points, but most of the points are fixed. You can turn off time-based scoring per question.
See Scoring options in round settings for details.
💡 Tips for great grid questions
- Keep the grid readable: short option texts work best. Nine or sixteen cells make a neat square.
- Add convincing wrong cells: since wrong cells cost nothing, the challenge is in finding all the right ones.
- Tell players how many to find: mention it in the question, or set the minimum and maximum answers to the same number.
Grid questions are perfect for "select all that apply" challenges!
